LOST DOGS FOLLOW THEIR HEARTS BACK TO SAN FRANCISCO
For the first time in 15 years, The Lost Dogs return to the city where they once played a number of acclaimed nightclub concerts at the dawn of their career.
THE LOST DOGS CHRISTMAS SHOW comes to the Red Devil Lounge in San Francisco Tuesday, December 9 in their only Northern California public appearance. The band will be performing songs pulled from throughout their whimsical, eccentric and profoundly moving 16-year body of work, including selections from their 2007 release, "We Like To Have Christmas."
The Red Devil, located at the corner of Clay and Polk Streets, is an intimate 250-capacity club, not unlike another legendary SF club - Slim's - the venue The Lost Dogs last played in 1993 on a bill also featuring The 77s and Adam Again (fronted by the late Gene Eugene, an original Lost Dog).
All four current "Dogs" are veterans of the SF club scene in the 1980's and early '90s, when Christian-based rock was regularly featured at venues like Wolfgang's (1025 Columbus, now the site of Cobb's Comedy Club). In those days, Terry Taylor and Derri Daugherty would play the room alongside other ground-breaking artists like Larry Norman, Phil Keaggy, Randy Stonehill and Leslie Phillips. In ensuing years, Mike Roe performed at the Fillmore with the 77s while Lost Dogs drummer Steve Hindalong played Great American Music Hall with Buddy Miller and Mary Gauthier.

Friday
12/12/2008 - 7:00 PM
The Venetian Theater, Albany, OR
For the second year in a row, you will have the opportunity to treat yourself (and your friends and neighbors!) to a wonderful dinner and a terrific concert, or if you want to skip the dinner just come out for the show.
The dinner is catered by Novak's Hungarian Restaurant and is some of the best Hungarian food you'll ever eat. Don't think you'd like Hungarian? Then you haven't eaten at Novak's.
Operation Homefront is a nonprofit organization that provides emergency assistance and morale to our troops, to the families they leave behind, and to wounded warriors when they return home.
Tickets are available online and at all TicketsWest locations in Oregon, as well as by phone at the TicketWest website.

Sunday
12/14/2008 - 7:30 PM
WOW Hall, Eugene, OR
Here's a little history. The WOW Hall has been a community gathering place since the first building (a church) was erected on the site. In 1906 the Woodmen of the World (an organization that provided health benefits, life insurance and burial costs while undertaking charitable and recreational activities for children and adults) bought the church and renamed it Woodmen of the World Hall.
Since then, promoters have discovered the perfect music venue. One of the best things about the place is the beautiful hardrock maple ‘floating’ dance floor.
The Lost Dogs love to play the WOW Hall. This year they are coming to town to benefit a local nonprofit organization, Free People.
Free People takes a number of Sundays a year at the WOW Hall (mostly during the winter months) to provide a hot meal, clothing, and entertainment to the homeless folks iin Eugene. The Lost Dogs participated in one of these events a couple of years ago and have been invited back again this year.
You may not know this, but the "Dogs" have a heart for the homeless and it is their vision that one day they would be able to tour from homeless shelter to homeless shelter, spreading love, hope, and acceptance.
Coming this December you will have an opportunity to support Free People, to help them help others. Even if you cannot make it to the concert you can still buy a ticket. This is definitely a worthwhile cause. All proceeds from ticket sales are going to Free People.

So how did the San Francisco show do? Tell the boys to come on out to the Houston area if they want to do a great show. I'll be there!

Lost Dogs West Coast Tour |
|
I'm so excited the Lost Dogs are coming back to Lake Stevens, Washington, on December 10, I can hardly contain myself
Sure hope they have a good turn out. Any chance they'll do "Cool Water" and "Tumbling Tumbleweeds" like at the garage they performed at while on Route 66
Also, their Christmas songs from last year
Anyway, I'm anxiously counting down the days........

I spoke to Terry yesterday and he happily revealed that he wrote a new Christmas play to be performed by The Lost Dogs to surely delight one and all. He describes it as a "twisted, freaky masterpiece." Sounds perfect!

West Coast Christmas Program |
|
WOW!!! Now I'm even more excited
Eight more days and counting. I'm trying to figure out what to bring. I could bake some chocolate chip cookies. If they turn out I could bring them. Do the Lost Dogs like chocolate chip cookies
Also, do we still have permission to video tape the performance?

Do they like chocoliate chip cookies? Is the Pope Catholic?
You have permission to videotape but no sound board recordings and the Dogs must be provided with a copy, just like last time!
Thanks!

I could use a new pair of "boots" this winter, especially if it has Terry's new play...
